7th/8th Grade Teacher: Religion, Math, Geography

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education – University of Michigan-Flint
  • Master of Science in Educational Leadership – Concordia University, Ann Arbor

What year did you begin teaching?

I began teaching at Holy Family in 1994.

Favorite Subjects

History, Geography and Religion. I love teaching the Old Testament because it includes all three of these subjects!

Why I chose to become a teacher

I love working with children, particularly the older children.  I love seeing the “light bulbs” go on in their heads when they “get it!”

What I like most about teaching at Holy Family

Holy Family is a wonderful teaching experience.  The staff is wonderful at helping each other out.  The parents are very supportive and very helpful.  Also, the students work very hard to do their absolute best!

How your faith influences teaching

Faith influences everything I do!  I try to incorporate it everything I teach, even Math!  Faith is also important to teaching because parents are intrusting their most precious thing to you, their children.  Faith helps you trust that God will help you teach your class to the best of your ability.

Your favorite bible passage

Romans 8:28 – “We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.”
