What year did you begin teaching?

I taught kindergarten until I married and moved to Michigan. I then took a teaching sabbatical and traveled with my husband. Thirteen years ago I realized how much I missed teaching. I was the teacher and director at Agnus Dei Academy until the school closed in 2009. I have been at Holy Family since 2010.

Why I chose to become a teacher

I have loved school for as long as I can remember. I played ‘teacher’ to invisible children from the time I was in kindergarten. Sharing my faith and my love for learning with my precious children is my number one goal.

What I like most about teaching at Holy Family

I want to teach in a school where I can share my faith. I could teach at a school around the corner from my house, but I choose to drive 25 miles to Holy Family where God is first. The staff is wonderful and makes Holy Family a real family.

How your faith influences teaching

I try to incorporate my faith into all aspects of my curriculum. I tell my children that whenever they think or do something good that they are letting Jesus shine through their heart.

Your favorite bible passage

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”  Philippians 4:13
