What year did you begin teaching? How long have you been teaching at Holy Family?
I began teaching in 1989. I have been at Holy Family School since 2002.
Favorite Subjects
I really like teaching 3rd grade because you get to teach all subjects, but my favorite would be Science and Math.
Why I chose to become a teacher
I cannot imagine doing anything else other than teaching. I believe it is more than a job, it is a calling. I love working with children, getting to know them, and helping them become confident and successful in life.
What I like most about teaching at Holy Family
I love my Catholic faith and I love to teach. Holy Family is the perfect place for me. There is a supportive, caring environment at Holy Family that I have found nowhere else.
How your faith influences teaching
My faith influences everything I do from how I interact with my students and parents, to how I interact with other staff. I try to teach my students about faith through my actions and how I deal with life’s everyday problems. I always look for teachable moments in any subject and encourage my students to see the many ways they can live out their faith daily.
Your favorite bible passage
I use this passage often to help me through life: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
