What year did you begin teaching?

The 1991-1992 School Year was my first year teaching first grade at Baker Elementary in Wayland, Michigan. I taught 2nd grade for 6 years at Keith Elementary in Walled Lake, Michigan. I have been teaching at Holy Family Catholic School since 2009. I have taught young fives, fourth grade, kindergarten, and second grade at Holy Family.

Favorite Subjects

I love teaching religion. Having the opportunity to teach each child about God, to let them know how much God loves them is truly a blessing. I enjoy all the ways religion integrates all of the subjects.

Why I am a teacher

I loved school when I was growing up. I looked up to my teachers and was inspired to follow in their footsteps. I became a teacher so I could support children as they learn, grow, and discover and give them a safe learning environment to spread their wings.

What I like most about teaching at Holy Family

What I treasure most about teaching at Holy Family is that we are more than just a great school, we are a family. With Jesus, Mary and Joseph as our model of love for one another we also share that care and love for each other every day.

How your faith influences teaching

As a Catholic School Teacher I live and share my Catholic Faith daily with my students.  I want to spread the good news of Jesus and let them know how much he loves us.  We read God’s Word, sing praises through song, and talk with him daily in prayer.  God has a plan for all of us. Finding our individual God given talents and using them for his glory is the goal for each of us. Helping the students to identify their strengths and talents and helping them develop their relationship with God is the beginning of their journey in life.
